Get Your Guitar: Live Music
Come on get happy! Amazing new artists! New Direction! 2023 New Guitars!
Music lights up the world. But after spending years keeping music to ourselves, the world is coming alive again with tours and shows and new music coming out of every genre of the musical world. New artists are popping up, seasoned artists are changing direction, and veteran artists are reinventing themselves.
Most likely, all this new creativity was the creation of being lockdown for a couple of years. Since artists had no tours or shows or sessions in studios to go to, they stayed home and got creative. The world of music is exploding, and we are ready to get happy once again!
Last year had us all blinking at the sunlight as we tentatively crept out from our various holes and caves, somewhat unsure of the world we were coming back to but desperate to grab hold of anything that resembled normalcy. For many music fans, this meant the return of live music, be it as an audience member or performer. We got through it and this year is where things feel like they are really taking off again. International tours are happening without cancellations and re-bookings, and the cogs of the great gigging machine are once again creaking back to life.
Concerts
Lots of humongous bands and artists will be playing. And it’s not just the massive concerts we’re excited about either. Many acts we love are playing local, smaller venues. This is where the real music scene lives and breathes and it’s where support is needed the most. Go see the music, buy a t-shirt, and support the art that is music.
Not only are concerts coming back. Exhibits and shows are coming back to. After being cancelled for the last two years, Winter NAMM is back in 2023 too! NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) is taking place April 13-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center. NAMM is the best attended industry convention. New guitar models, freshened up classics, wacky one-offs, and more are all part of the upcoming excitement. Keep your eye open for more details!
Festivals
Festivals are back this year too. Whatever genres of music you prefer, it looks like you’ll be getting a huge range of festival experiences in 2023. For example, Download (June 8-11) is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year and they are pulling out all the stops to make it an unforgettable experience.
We have a lot of hope for the year ahead. Live music is alive and well and those difficult times we’ve lived through look to become a thing of the past. We are ready to rock out and rock on!
Guitars
On the guitar front, our world seems raring to go too. There are exciting new guitars that will be ready in 2023 and whether you are a novice or just beginning, there is something for everyone. If you are looking to go at the guitar again after some time off, or you are just beginning, consider lessons to help you get going.
