Find a Philly Guitar Teacher
Let’s keep the music going
While things are tough right now and we are home more than ever, we have to try and find a sense of normalcy through this pandemic. There are ways to continue with your daily routine as well as your hobbies and passions. Maybe not in the ways you are used to, but life can still go on. Just because you’re stuck at home most of the time, don’t eliminate your passions from your life. Finding a guitar teacher in Philly is easy! Look no further than Berklee College of Music graduate, David Joel.
Several of us have picked up new and different hobbies while being stuck at home during Covid. One of those has been learning the guitar. While learning the guitar is not a new hobby and many people have been taking lessons for years, this past year has made learning look a little different.
Instead of visiting your favorite guitar teacher, you are now taking lessons online. Zoom has become our lifeline and learning new things this way is no different. Many guitar instructors have taken to giving lessons virtually. It’s safe for everyone this way. But is it effective in instructing someone to play?
Being in the same room with a teacher is always the best way to teach and learn but during this pandemic, sometimes, that just isn’t possible. Instructing someone to play the guitar is best learned in person but the music needs to keep going and so we look for alternative resources. Virtual is the next best thing.
When being instructed online, make sure you are the only student. This way the instructor can give their undivided attention to you and you alone. They will be able to hear and see you and guide you on anything that needs to be worked on. Learning the guitar is still feasible online. You just have to make sure you find the teacher to work with.
At the David Joel Guitar Studio, lessons have always been given on a one-on-one basis. David feels this is the best way for a student to learn. There is no intimidation from other students who may be learning at a quicker pace and it gives the instructor the opportunity to critique and praise so that the student knows what direction they are going and what they need to work on.
We need to keep the music going. This pandemic isn’t going to stop that. It can’t because we need music, especially now. Learning an instrument is a great way to not only bring out your musical ability but also a way to keep you busy and give you something to work on and look forward to. Taking lessons keeps you motivated and focused. If you are looking to take lessons, there is no better time than now. Virtual lessons, in a one-on-one environment, are just as good as in-person lessons.
